Gathered around the table, each of us with a cup of coffee, she leaned forward conspiratorially as she prepared to tell me the secret she needed to share. “I killed him,” she whispered. “I killed him with my thoughts.” This elderly lady, a family member of mine who I will call Lili for this post,... I feel vulnerable and incredibly afraid to write about something so deeply personal. But we all have our moments, I suppose, where something compels us to... Continue Reading →

The Anchor of Your Thoughts
We sat next to each other in the sand overlooking the water, both of us thinking, neither of us talking much. We had been this way for what seemed like hours. It was the kind of day I had really needed, the kind where you can put everything aside for a little while. Where the... Continue Reading →
The Girl with No Future
I sat alone, in the dark. Through the window I could see the glow of a streetlight, but it was weak, illuminating very little inside the room. Outside the traffic was gone, nothing but the sound of a drizzling rain to break the silence...nature awakening to retake the Earth while humanity slept. I looked around... Continue Reading →
Write it All Away
Will you be my escape...I've been calling for you. Where will you take me? Wherever it is, I want to go with you. To that place that exists in memories, in dreams. In imagination. There are friends there, people that I knew, people I know, people I will know. They live in a world in... Continue Reading →
