I love looking at the lights on the Christmas tree. I think that’s what I’ll miss most when the season is over. There is a lot of hope in the lights. They seem to contain a million thoughts—a welcome of rest and peace for the moment, promises of hope and answered prayers for the future.
Christmas is busy, the day is full and it can be overwhelming. It can make you question yourself, your gifts, your year. A high-performance holiday. Sometimes you wonder, did I measure up, did I do well? Did I meet the requirements–give the right gifts, send the right cards, check all the blocks? But sitting by the lights, I find the peace I’ve been seeking, even if only for a little while of stillness. Here, everything is how it should be.
The lights seem to whisper: “You are exactly where you are supposed to be.”
I wish you incredible peace and inspiration today. I hope that when you look at the lights–outside, inside, in stores and in the streets, or in your living room or even in the night sky from countless stars, that you feel peace– for where you’ve been, excitement and energy for where you’re going. Light is energy, light moves at speeds we can barely comprehend. It surrounds us, and when we gaze into it, we feel the power of the moment we’re in. And all of the wonderful things that await us.
I wish everyone a very Happy Holidays 🙂

Our Christmas was quiet as we had the dreaded virus – luckily very mild symptoms as we’d been boostered! We were going down to London to spend it with Anne’s son’s family, but that will now be a New Year thing. The enforced isolation actually turned what would be a very busy and hectic period into a really relaxing, peaceful time. Ready to be social again soon though!
