About Me

Hi, my name is Winter Betancourt, and I love to write 🙂 my first novel is set for publication in May 2025. It’s been a long road, but I finally has a date on the calendar. It’s thrilling and nerve wracking to share this special project at long last.

I love mythology, especially Greek mythology, and I love underdogs. People who have to fight hard and defeat impossible obstacles to get where they want to be (who doesn’t love an underdog?) Unlikely heroes are my favorites!

By daytime I’m a graphic designer, design is something that I enjoy and allows me to  express myself visually. I’ve always wanted to see my characters brought to life, and designing has allowed me to do that. I’m working on digital illustrations to accompany my book, it’s very challenging but also very rewarding.

I really like to read, and I love to participate in the book community. I’m on Goodreads a lot and try to participate in the challenges, and when I have time I always try my best to leave reviews! Feel free to add me on Goodreads or socials, I always enjoy making book friends.

I’ve very open about my challenges with anxiety, writing helps me to process these difficult emotions. I know many writers and readers struggle with these same concerns, and I really enjoy getting to know other members of the community and supporting one another in this journey. I want to thank you for stopping by and visiting my page, talk soon!

  1. Yes, many of us artists at least have been underdogs at one time or another. It’s our art that keeps us going and at least in part defines us. I’m thankful for that. Keep on writ’n!

    1. Thank you so much Steven for reading and commenting! I totally agree, that energy is what helps us move forward and get motivated to write down our experiences! 😁

    1. Such a great question, thank you so much for visiting and asking!

It’s really hard to say! Mainly because one aspect of mythology that I love the most is the interplay and the relationships between the different characters and forces, so it is difficult to choose one. But I would say that I really enjoy reading about lesser known gods and goddesses, ones that have been forgotten in the passing of time.

Poena and Alastor, personified spirits of divine retribution, are two of my favorites from Greek mythology. It is fascinating to write about them and imagine how they would have fit into the greater scheme of the gods and goddesses we are more familiar with, and how they would have aided the gods in exacting justice.
